It was a real pleasure to return to the Black Rep for A Song for Coretta. Dunsi's beautiful set and Ashley's rich soundscape made the world very real when desired but also took us away from it when the story went elsewhere. Our production received a nomination for the Kevin Kline Awards Best Production. This production also introduced me to the incomparable Andrea Frye, with whom I would later collaborate on Art.
